PORTO CORALLO: a necessary stop if, starting from Villasimius, you feel the need to stop before heading along the Ogliastra coast.

ARBATAX: the first landing in the wonderful Ogliastra coast, the most impressive and wild of Sardinia, full of postcard gorges, such as Cala Goloritzé, Cala Luna and Sisine, the Grotta del Bue Marino. The port is located in the village. One definitely must pay a visit to the Rocce Rosse, beautiful red porphyry cliffs attracting tourists from all over the world every year, reachable within a few minutes by foot.

SANTA MARIA NAVARRESE: not far from Arbatax, it is the starting point for the discovery of the Ogliastra gulf. Since June 2005 the local Marina di Baunei has been equipped with the "Pequod", a lifter allowing access to the boats to disabled people, making it the "first accessible port" of Sardinia. On the ground, a walk in the village will be an immersion in cordiality, in the Mediterranean maquis and in the gastronomic delicacies which have made Ogliastra famous.

PORTO OTTIOLU: After diving head-first in the Ogliastra charm, and in its sheer cliffs, the landscape stretches out in the beautiful bay of Porto Ottiolu, famous for its beaches, delicious local products and lively nightlife, an ideal complement for the navigation.

SINISCOLA: From the beach of Berchida to the dunes of Capo Comino, to the village of the Fishermen of Santa Lucia, the surrounding area of Siniscola is full of attractions. There is a wide range of naturalistic excursions inside, allowing to appreciate a varied and uncontaminated territory. Together with the nearby towns of San Teodoro and Budoni, they offer the not overlookable advantage of less boat traffic compared to that in the north coast, allowing to fully enjoy the area's natural wealth.

OLBIA: A growing city with an international airport connected to the main European cities, Olbia is the junction between the east and north coasts. Carloforte Sail Charter offers a comfortable landing place in the modern Marina of Olbia. It is up to you to choose the route. Whatever it is, it will still be unforgettable even out of season.

COSTA SMERALDA: After passing Porto Rotondo and Marina di Portisco, the famous Costa Smeralda opens up, renowned all over the world as a favorite destination for international jet set. The area, about twenty kilometers included in the municipality of Arzachena, is full of inlets and small beaches, while the islands of Soffi, Mortorio, Mortoriotto, Bisce and the Maddalena archipelago are just a few miles away, making the navigable area intriguing but also rich in dry and rocky outcrops one cannot afford to miss.

CANNIGIONE: the village of Cannigione, fitted with a large and well-equipped marina, has always been the natural harbor of the town of Arzachena. Its gulf is the ideal location for sailing regattas

PALAU: numerous beaches, alternating with stretches of granite coast, introduce the town of Palau, gateway to the archipelago of La Maddalena and Corsica. The surrounding area is full of beaches, set in the lush and fragrant Mediterranean scrub. Near the village is the Bear's Rock, a 122 meter high granite hill shaped by weathering, famous for its bear shape and visited every year by thousands of people

LA MADDALENA ARCHIPELAGO : A trait d'union between Sardinia and Corsica, the archipelago stands out for its pristine beauty. Access to the neighboring islands and seas is entirely bound by the regulation of the park of the same name (www.lamaddalenapark.it) established in 1994 to protect the area. The whole archipelago has jagged coasts and rocky outcrops, which require the utmost caution in navigation, the same payed for intense boat traffic. Its inhabited center is La Maddalena, born as a fishing village and more recently linked to the activity of the NATO military base of Santo Stefano, abandoned in 2008.

CAPRERA: With so much nature, a dive into history is a must. Also included in the park of La Maddalena, and connected to the mainland by a small bridge, the island of Caprera is known for being chosen as a retreat by Giuseppe Garibaldi, who died there in 1882. Of a granitic nature, it possesses numerous forests, mainly pinewoods, and coasts with sandy coves alternating with slopes facing the sea

WEATHER:

The climate is typically Mediterranean with little rainfall. The entire southern coast is also open to the winds of the second and third quadrant, but it is common to also come across mistral and west winds which, if strong enough, make navigation challenging and only suitable for expert crews.
